Dynamic Water Management, Croke Park Dublin
22 May 2008

The pressure is on Building Services professionals to design ever more complex and energy efficient cooling and heating systems in modern buildings with restricted space and under increasingly demanding environmental legislation. Despite the technical advances that have been made all systems still use a critical component that hasn’t changed since the invention of the heating system by the Romans. Water

Water is still used as a heat transfer medium because it is cheap, widely available and environmentally friendly. However water also has many drawbacks. When these are ignored they can have disastrous consequences such as corrosion, increased energy consumption, spiralling maintenance costs and the shortened life of an expensive asset. In short the dreaded ‘Sick System Syndrome’

Yet it is possible to minimise the detrimental effects of water without using environmentally harmful chemicals by using the latest advances in pressurisation, deaeration and degassing technology.

For successful corrosion control it is vital that the system designer has a sound understanding of the principals that underlie the physical and chemical processes.

In this seminar we will share the knowledge that has been gained over the past 100 years by Pneumatex AG through practical experience and research at technical institutions and Universities throughout Europe.

At the end of this conference it should be apparent to everybody that correct pressure control and limiting oxygen diffusion are vital for the prevention of the ‘Sick System Syndrome’

Dynamic Water Management is based on a wide range of physical laws and principles such as Boyle’s Law, Henry’s Law, partial pressures, diffusion, neutral point and all of these will be covered in detail during the seminar.

The Sick System Syndrome

or (Why correct pressure control can prevent corrosion). This course explains using simple terms and basic physics the reasons for Sick System Syndrome. Find out how to prevent problems such as Excessive corrosion, black sludge, leaks, boiler and pump failures by correctly identifying and introducing a properly designed pressurisation system based on proven principles. Compensation for thermal expansion, building movement and noise in pipe work systems

This technical course is provided to increase awareness of the dangers which would occur if pipe expansion and building movement are not considered and designed accordingly. System Security and Personnel Safety are of paramount importance in all installations. The course explains the need to consider alternative types of Expansion Joint construction, and correct supervision of the installation, from design to testing.
